WorkSafe conducts seminars, conferences and events as part of our ongoing commitment to informing, educating and advising the community on workplace health and safety issues. Our upcoming events are listed below.
WorkSafe Victoria is hosting free information sessions to help you better manage health and safety, understand workplace injury insurance and assist injured workers.
The OHS, Return to Work and Premium in your Workplace information sessions run during May and June across the State.
At the sessions, you will hear about:
- new initiatives and information to make Victorian workplaces safer
- new ways to help injured workers get back to work
- WorkSafe Injury Insurance premium for 2008/09
There will also be ample opportunity to ask questions of senior WorkSafe staff

The WorkSafe Annual Certification Seminars focus on what employer's and their financial representatives need to know to complete the Declaration of Rateable Remuneration for 2008. They cover common issues such as what to include in the calculation of rateable remuneration, contractors, interstate arrangements, on-hire arrangements, WorkCover Industry Classification and completing the Declaration using the online system.
As is the practice of WorkSafe, these sessions are free of charge and aim to provide you with practical information to help you better understand and manage your WorkSafe Injury Insurance premium obligations.

Employer Return to Work Network events: Event Calendar for 2008
Join WorkSafe and a variety of guest speakers at these free events designed for those who are responsible for managing injured workers in your workplace or who play a role in helping them back to work. These events are designed to enhance your skills, knowledge and capacity for an early and sustainable RTW for injured workers. There is also an opportunity for employers to share their RTW ideas and experiences with each other.

Maintenance Safety Workshops (MRISC)
These interactive workshops are a must for anyone involved with the maintenance, repair, installation, servicing and cleaning (MRISC) of machinery and equipment. They will be held in both metropolitan and regional centres.
OH&S Regulation in the Victorian Mining Sector: WorkSafe's Role from 2008
From 1st January 2008, WorkSafe Victoria will be responsible for regulating Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) in the Mining, Petroleum & Quarry Sectors.
WorkSafe will be holding information sessions in regional Victoria for managers, health and safety representatives, and employees in the mining sector to explain the change.
