Incident Notification
WorkSafe Victoria manages Victoria’s workplace safety system to protect workers and the general public.
While the emphasis is on preventing incidents, WorkSafe also has an important role in assessing incidents that have occurred and enforcing relevant legislation.
Employers, occupiers and people who are in control of workplaces and high risk equipment are required by law to notify WorkSafe about incidents involving workplace health and safety, dangerous goods as well as explosives.
This guide will help you to understand what incidents to report and how to report them.
To search for all available guidance and information on incident notification, refer to the ‘Information Map’ or the ‘Forms and Publications’ section displayed on the left hand side of this page.
